Memorial Day Weekend

We headed down to Dayton for a weekend with friends and family. We left Friday night after work and enjoyed a pretty easy drive. We had to stop once at the rest area to give CJ a bottle, but were back on the road in a half hour. This was his first long drive and he did pretty well. Savannah will watch movies now on the DVD so she is pretty easy.

We stayed with Jen Friday night. This was also CJs first night in the Pack-n-Play. Once again he did pretty well. Nice to get him used to this travelling as we have a few trips planned this summer.

Saturday morning Jim and Neil went to play golf with Dad. While none of them played very well I think they had a nice time. Jen and I drove down to Centerville to Panera to hang out with the ladies at knitting. We ended up staying there for quite a while. We showed CJ off to a few of mom's friends. Katy and Kathy Utz brought Katy's daughter Lauren. She is 1 month older than CJ. Can you tell by this picture??? CJ looks much bigger.

My friend Sue from EY in Cincy also came for a visit with Sarah. Savannah and Sarah really enjoyed hanging out and playing. We stayed at Panera so long we ate breakfast and lunch there.

After Panera we went back to Jen's for nap time. After nap we headed to the Activity Center to play with Colin and Sarah. Savannah hadn't seen them since October. Thanks to the web cam she has been able to see them somewhat often. It helps her remember them. They had a great time playing on the playground and also in the water sprinklers once they discovered them. Savannah was a little scared, but enjoyed watching from the side and getting a little wet.

We then dropped the kids off at various places. Savannah went to spend the night with my dad and CJ stayed with Mom. Cutler was up with Jen and Neil. We then headed out to Beef O'Brady's to have dinner and drinks with Tim and Stacey. It was really nice to hang out with them again. I hadn't seen Stacey since October. The beers were going down very well early in the evening. So we decided that we wanted to head to the Pour Haus for some Cville Memories. Funny thing is Stacey and I got hit on before we even sat down. And there were only about 20 people in there. Guess they were really drunk, but we increased the average age by quite a bit when we walked in. We stayed for a pitcher and then headed over to the Fox and Hound. We spent the rest of the night there. We really got into playing music on the jukebox. So we sat and chatted there for the rest of the night. We headed home around midnight. Jim and I tried to head to Skyline, but they had already closed. Oh well, probably better that way. I really wish they were still around in Cleveland. We miss having them around. But are excited for vacation down in Atlanta in a few weeks.

I got to sleep in until 10 on Sunday! I did get up with CJ twice during that time, but that way I wasn't too out of it for the family picnic at Jens. Jen and Neil always do great with their gatherings. Both sides of the family came over and we had a really nice afternoon. We played cornhole, ate, and just chatted. We also got a really nice picture with my Grandpa for a 4 Generation photo.

We headed back to Cleveland around nap time on Monday and both kids did great on our way home. So it was a successful weekend. Both kids did really well and it was nice to see family and friends. Now back to the grind. Whatever that may be since I am not working :)

Oh and I was able to capture CJs first smile on camera. I haven't been able to actually get it on camera so here it is!
