Big Red Hot Dog Video

Just one more post from vacation. The kids started chanting "Big Red Hot Dog" when we got on the boat because they wanted to ride the hot dog. It was so cute, I caught it on video.

Georgia Vacation

Well it has been a while since I last posted. We just got back from our vacation down in Georgia. The kids did great on the airplane both there and back. The plane we rode was two seats on one side and one on the other. We had planned on me sitting on the one side and Jim and Savannah on the two side. Well it turns out the baby had to be on the side of the two seats because that is where the extra oxygen and the infant life vests were. So I was stuck with both kids while Jim relaxed by himself listening to his ipod and reading his book. Must have been nice. Once we got to the airport we picked up our rental car and headed to Tim and Stacey's. When we got there we headed out to dinner at Taco Mac. It was really good. That was Monday night. On Tuesday we got up early and headed to the Coke museum and the Georgia Aquarium. It was really warm that day, but the kids had a good time. We were meeting my college roommate for dinner and had a little time to kill so we went over to Centennial park for a little bit. It was only a few miles to dinner and all the kids fell asleep. They did pretty well at dinner given how tired they were. I really enjoyed catching up with Michelle. I hadn't seen her in almost two years.

The next day we headed to the Varsity for lunch. It is a very historic place in Atlanta to eat. They serve diner food. The kids had a great time and the food was good. Also kept us from buying anything at the baseball game. We got to the game and sat in our seats which were right in the sun. We decided to move into the shade and it was much better. We were able to stay through the 6th inning. The kids were ready to go. CJ slept through most of the game.

After the game we headed out to Stacey's parents house on Lake Oconee in Reynolds Plantation. We were planning on staying there the rest of the week. It was so nice and relaxing. We went out on the lake, swam in the pool and the kids did a little fishing. Savannah did great wearing her life jacket and got in the lake to swim. She also rode the jet ski with Tim and Stacey. I tried to ski, but couldn't get my big butt out of the water. That's ok maybe next time. Jim was able to go golfing as well. He enjoyed it, but it was pretty hot out. Their house is just a great place to sit and relax. Stacey's mom was very helpful with CJ. She watched him so that we could go to the pool and the lake. We did take him out on the lake once and I think he liked the wind in his hair :) He slept a little too much during the day though. He was back to getting up twice in the night. Hopefully that doesn't last now that we are home. I guess we will see.

All in all it was a great vacation. Hopefully we will get to see the Browns again soon and we would love to go to the lake again. Savannah is already asking for Colin and Sarah. The kids played really well together. Although Savannah started acting like she was older than she was :)

Another Fun Crazy Weekend!

Paychek came into town this weekend for a visit. She decided to try Amtrak for her mode of transportation this time. While it was ok I don't think she will be taking it again. It was supposed to get into Elyria at 5:15 am Friday morning and didn't actually get in until around 7:15. While that was a plus for me as I didn't have to get up as early, wasn't so great for her who had to sit two hours longer in an uncomfortable seat.

We had decided earlier in the week that we would go get pedicures and see the Sex and The City movie Friday during the day for her birthday. I sent both kids to Carrie's for the day and CJ did really well for his first day at the sitter. Soon enough I will be back at work and he will be going three days a week. I am going to start taking him once a week in July so he gets used to it.

Anyway back to our girls day. We had a nice relaxing pedicure, headed to lunch at Ruby Tuesday and then off to the movie. Here I thought it would be crowded and there were like 10 people in the theater.

Oh I forgot we headed to a Dollar Store as we had 20 minutes to kill. Beck and Lynn you would have loved this one! We so would have had a major competition to see who could have gotten the best thing for $1. Probably the nicest dollar store I have been to. I will be going back :) So I spent $15 there and off we went.

We picked up the kids from the sitter and waited for Jim to get off of work. We headed to Mexican for dinner and then hung outside for a bit. CJ loved hanging out in the backyard watching daddy play cornhole.

Saturday morning Paychek and I headed to the gym and then met a friend for lunch. The kids had a really good time and we enjoyed catching up. We don't do it often enough!

Jim was supposed to play in a Cornhole tourney that afternoon at the Club but it was cancelled. So he had an idea to head to Cedar Point with their after 5 rate. So we got the kids up and headed out there late afternoon. We got there a little after 5 and got a great parking spot. We had so much fun. I couldn't believe how many kids rids there were. Savannah loved every minute of it and couldn't get enough. Once the ride was done she was asking for another one. We thought we would stay until 9 or so and ended up staying until 11! The kids did great. We got to ride a few big rides too. They have a parent swap thing where one parent rides and then leaves a paper with them while the other parent goes through the exit and rides the ride.

The only thing that I didn't enjoy was my Subway dinner! While I was trying to be good it cost me $15 for a 6 inch sub, apples and a diet Pepsi! I think we will pack our dinner next time.

We were all pretty tired and slept in on Sunday. CJ slept until 6 am!

It was a great weekend and I am glad Paychek was able to come for a visit!

Hughes Family Visit/Jim's Birthday

We had quite the full weekend. The Hughes Family was in town and we got together with them on Friday night for dinner. It took the kids a little while to warm up to each other, but they had so much fun together. The best was the ice cream after dinner.

Jim's Birthday was on Saturday and he had plans to play golf with his parents, so after talking with Jeff and Sarah they mentioned doing something with them on Saturday. We decided to head to the Memphis Kiddie Park. I have wanted to take Savannah there and I am glad we went. Savannah loved it. And of course CJ slept through it all. We will have to take Savannah back there again this summer. It was a great place to go for a couple of hours. Her favorite thing was the Merry Go Round. I rode the roller coaster with her. I wasn't sure if I was actually going to fit. I did, but boy was it uncomfortable. After the Kiddie Park we went to lunch at Max and Ermas. We were pretty much the only people there. The kids had a great time there. Hopefully we will get to see them again around Thanksgiving before they head off to the Azore Islands for 2 years.

We came home and Savannah didn't really nap. I was worried because we were headed to the Cheesecake Factory for dinner with Jim's Parents. We got there a little after 5 hoping to not have a long wait. They quoted us 20-40 minutes and we waited longer than an hour. Thank goodness Savannah did well. That is a long time for a little one to wait and then sit for dinner afterwards.

On Sunday we headed to church and then went to the Bay Nature Center for their Family Fun Fest. It was out of control. There were people everywhere. So we looked at the animals, bought a cookie at the bake sale and left. We didn't really do any of the activities they had there. We did stop at the playground on the way back and Savannah had a great time. She loves the "big girl" swings.

All in all it was a great weekend. It was nice to be outside.
