Florida Trip!!!

We headed down to Florida to visit Jim's parents. It was CJs first drip down to Florida but his 2nd time on a plane. Due to his ear infections we were worried about him flying. He was the one that was the best! Savannah did well, but was a bit antsy.

We arrived in Florida on a Thursday night and had a little dinner and went to bed. On Friday morning we headed to the beach. The water was a little cold (ok a lot cold!), but the kids had fun. Savannah couldn't get enough of the sand and CJ enjoyed being outside.

We also took Savannah to the pool that afternoon. It was just nice to be out in the warm weather and out of the Cleveland cold.

On Saturday, Jim and his mom went golfing and Savannah and I headed to the pool again whil Grandpa watched CJ.

Saturday night we decided to head to the Lee County Fair. How much fun that was! We may even plan our trip next year around when it is in town.

Sunday the weather wasn't that great so we went to church and kind of just hung out. We flew back that night. All in all it was a great trip.

Welcome Baby Alec

So I drove down to Dayton early Sunday morning hoping I would make it there before Jen had her baby.

I made it down there just as she started pushing. So we waited in the waiting room for a little over 2 hours! Now I know what my family went through when they had to wait around all day for me to have Savannah!

We finally saw Neil and the baby come through on the way to the nursery. He was just adorable! I couldn't wait to hold him and to see Jen. I was so upset I only had one day to visit with them.

But I did take advantage of being there without Jim and the kids and went to North China :)

Alec Michael Pennington was born at 2:46pm on February 22nd, 21 1/4 long, 7 lb 4 oz.

Ruperts Visit

Well even though we were supposed to get the snow storm of 2009, the Ruperts decided to come to Cleveland for a visit :) They decided to come up Friday night to avoid any of the snow (which we never got!) On Saturday we went to the Preschool PTA party at the Nature Center. The kids had a great time. Then Saturday afternoon we went bowling. That was a lot of fun. Savannah hadn't been bowling in quite a while but she seemed to like it a lot.

We headed to the Winking Lizard for dinner. On the way home I got a call from my mom that Jen's water broke. 4 weeks early! Totally unexpected.

We had a great time with the Ruperts and hope they come and visit us again soon!

Sesame Street Live

I took Savannah to Sesame Street Live again this year. We got free tickets through Jim's work and went with The Bellamys. We had a great time. It was amazing how many fewer people were there this year than last year. Guess it is the sign of the time.

The kids had a pretty good time (they all seemed to be off that day), but was definitely worth free tickets!

Jen's Baby Shower

Well I haven't posted in quite a while so it is a little late to be posting about Jen's shower considering Alec is already a month old!

But we had Jen's shower at her friend KK's parent's house in Dayton. It was a great shower and looking back on it I am glad that we did it when we did! Or baby Alec might have joined us there. It was great to see family and all of Jen's friends. It was a lot to plan with two little ones around but it turned out great. Her friend Jen Conti made the cake! And it turned out great!
