CJs 1 year stats
We went to the Dr. this week and CJ had his 1 year checkup. Poor little guy had 4 shots this time because we were behind on one. But he did great. The Dr. also tested him for a milk allergy and it came out ok. So we are going to try switching him to milk and see how it goes.
Weight - 21 lbs - 25th percentile
Height - 30 lbs - 50th percentile
Head - 47.6 cm - 80th percentile - yikes our little guy has a big head :)

Snuggies!
So Jim and I got Snuggies! I ordered them off the internet and they were backordered! Can you believe it. I wish I had thought of them because of their stupid commercials they are making a fortune!
Anyway they are actually very comfortable and very warm. They are huge though. Could never carry CJ around with one on. I would be afraid I would trip over it.
Dayton Visit and Celebrations!
We wanted to get back to Dayton to see baby Alec. Since I was the only one that had met him we wanted the rest of the family to go. And Savannah really wanted to meet her new cousin. We also decided to go ahead and celebrate CJs first birthday. It was a bit early, but since all my family was there it worked out great. We also celebrated Jen and Neil's birthday and the arrival of baby Alec. We decided to drive down Saturday morning this time. Which worked out pretty well. We didn't have to stop for a meal and since we have flipped CJ around in the car both kids were able to watch tv. We were going to stay with my mom this time since Jen is still trying to figure things out. But we spent the day at Jens and then went back to my moms that night.
All in all everyone had a great time. I didn't get to spend as much time with Alec as I would have liked, (I was running around getting ready for the party). But it was great to have all of the grandkids (and great grandkids) together!

Tubes for CJ!
CJ had had 3 ear infections in a month and a half. So we decided to take him to an ENT to check them out. He told us that he was going to put him on a low dose antibiotic for a month and see if he could get the fluid to drain.
We went back on Monday March 9th to get them checked. I thought for sure it had drained because we had been so healthy that month. Well as soon as the Dr. looked in his ears he said it was all still in there. He had CJ do a hearing test and he failed so tubes it was.
We were able to get in that Friday (yes the 13th!). Since he was the youngest he went first. We were supposed to be at the hospital at 6:30. CJ was supposed to fast after midnight and since he still gets up for a bottle we knew this was going to be an issue. So we decided to wake him up at 11:30 to eat. He had his bottle and went back down. He then decided to be awake at 3:30! Yikes! So we were a little tired by the time we went to the surgery.
CJ got all registered and we went back. He got into a hospital gown and I got in some scrubs and we took him back. I thought it wouldn't be that big of deal watching him go to sleep, but I had a really hard time with it. I was fine once I got to the waiting room. The good thing is that it is a very short procedure. I was only in there 9 minutes before the Dr. came out. He said CJ did a great job and the fluid was very waxy and would have never drained on its own. So I am glad we did it.
We were home by 9 am and we both took a much needed nap. CJ acted like nothing ever happened! So that is great!

Florida Trip!!!
We headed down to Florida to visit Jim's parents. It was CJs first drip down to Florida but his 2nd time on a plane. Due to his ear infections we were worried about him flying. He was the one that was the best! Savannah did well, but was a bit antsy.
We arrived in Florida on a Thursday night and had a little dinner and went to bed. On Friday morning we headed to the beach. The water was a little cold (ok a lot cold!), but the kids had fun. Savannah couldn't get enough of the sand and CJ enjoyed being outside.
We also took Savannah to the pool that afternoon. It was just nice to be out in the warm weather and out of the Cleveland cold.
On Saturday, Jim and his mom went golfing and Savannah and I headed to the pool again whil Grandpa watched CJ.
Saturday night we decided to head to the Lee County Fair. How much fun that was! We may even plan our trip next year around when it is in town.
Sunday the weather wasn't that great so we went to church and kind of just hung out. We flew back that night. All in all it was a great trip.

Welcome Baby Alec
So I drove down to Dayton early Sunday morning hoping I would make it there before Jen had her baby.
I made it down there just as she started pushing. So we waited in the waiting room for a little over 2 hours! Now I know what my family went through when they had to wait around all day for me to have Savannah!
We finally saw Neil and the baby come through on the way to the nursery. He was just adorable! I couldn't wait to hold him and to see Jen. I was so upset I only had one day to visit with them.
But I did take advantage of being there without Jim and the kids and went to North China :)
Alec Michael Pennington was born at 2:46pm on February 22nd, 21 1/4 long, 7 lb 4 oz.

Ruperts Visit
Well even though we were supposed to get the snow storm of 2009, the Ruperts decided to come to Cleveland for a visit :) They decided to come up Friday night to avoid any of the snow (which we never got!) On Saturday we went to the Preschool PTA party at the Nature Center. The kids had a great time. Then Saturday afternoon we went bowling. That was a lot of fun. Savannah hadn't been bowling in quite a while but she seemed to like it a lot.
We headed to the Winking Lizard for dinner. On the way home I got a call from my mom that Jen's water broke. 4 weeks early! Totally unexpected.
We had a great time with the Ruperts and hope they come and visit us again soon!
