Cereal!
We tried rice cereal for the first time tonight. I am not sure how much CJ actually ate, but he didn't seem to hate it. So we will keep trying.

Smuckers!
Jim and I had our first night out without the kids (well 1st overnight). We headed to the Indians game and the kids went to Jim's parents for the night. It was a very nice night and the kids behaved! So that is good! We picked them up on Saturday morning and wanted to do something. Jim's parents mentioned heading down to Smucker's. So we headed down there. There really isn't much other than a store, but it was a nice trip. We bought a few things and had a grilled PB&J. That was tasty. Nothing like a good old peanut butter and jelly sandwich. We then headed to a few Amish furniture stores. I was looking for a console table for behind the couch. They were all a little bit more than I wanted to spend. We then headed home and ended up stopping at the outlets in Lodi because CJ woke up and was hungry. While Jim fed CJ in the car, Savannah and I headed to the Carter's store to buy them some fall clothes. Savannah proceeded to pee on the floor! Boy that was great. They were really good about it. Since this was only day 2 in underwear I did have a change of clothes. We then had two more accidents that day! Let's hope this isn't a trend.

The kids are getting so big!!!
So this weekend we were finally in town. We have been out of town the last 3 weekends. So Friday night we went to the pool party up at Five Seasons. It was very crowded, but ended up being fun. Savannah played in the pool and went in the bounce house. We were getting ready to leave and she said she wanted to go off the diving board. So I said ok. She had her swimmy arms on. I went in the water and our neighbor Patti helped her on the board. She walked to the end and went right off. No hesitation. So of course we had to do it again. By the third time the lifeguard was actually paying attention and said we couldn't go off with the bands. That resorted in some crying, but I was so proud of her going. It might be a while until she can do it again, but maybe not!!!! Sorry no pictures! I was in the water.
Then our little boy decided he liked the exersaucer. He had so much fun in it. He was chatting up a storm. As you can see in the video below.
He had so much fun he fell asleep! He takes after his mommy. He can sleep anywhere!
Then last but not least. His daddy took this pisture! Need I say more?

Swim Lessons
Savannah has been going to swim lessons the last two weeks. She took them at a friend's pool. It was 8 days for 30 minutes each day. I really did see an improvement at the end. While she isn't swimming, she is much more comfortable in the water than she was before. She will go under. And yesterday she had her swim wings on and would jump in the pool without me holding on to her. She did this for about 30 minutes straight! Wore me out just watching her. If she got listening to the teacher and waiting her turn out of it I would have been happy. Hopefully I can work out her doing them again next year when I am working.

4th of July in Frankenmuth
We headed up to Frankenmuth, Michigan with my mom, sister and her husband for the weekend. We left Thursday afternoon and got there around 5. We checked into the Drury Inn and headed down for the free happy hour! Can't pass that up. Then we headed down to the pre-race party. We were doing a 5 k the next morning. They had packet pick-up, activities for the kids and a spaghetti dinner. It was a nice little event. After that we headed back to the hotel and put the kids to bed. Jim was tired from a long day so he stayed in the room with them. Jen, Neil, mom and I headed down to the park for the fireworks. We got great seats and they were wonderful fireworks for a small town. The next morning we got up and headed down for our free breakfast and then went to the race. Jen and Neil ran the race. We had both kids and a double stroller so we were lucky we were even able to walk. I carried CJ in the Baby Bjorn for about a mile until my back just started killing me. So into the stroller her went. Jim pushed the stroller the whole time which is no easy task! We were happy to complete the race in under an hour. One of these days maybe I will run! We stuck around for a bit afterwards as they had tons of stuff going on. This was a pretty big race. They had a 20k, 10k, 5k and a 2k for the kids.
After that we shopped for a bit, went to lunch, and then put the kids down for a nap. Lunch was huge. We weren't expecting this big dinner, but when we sat down it was the dinner menu and it was family style! It was a good German meal, but way too much food. After that Jen, Mom and I headed to the outlets for a couple of hours. We got back and headed to putt putt golf. Mom stayed back with CJ. That was a lot of fun.
On Saturday we got up and went to the Farmer's Market. This wasn't very exciting. After the market we headed to the Riverboat cruise. That was a really nice little boat ride. After that we headed over to Zehnder's for lunch. They had a great little cafeteria in the basement. We all went and took naps after that and then headed to Bronner's Christmas store once Savannah woke up. It is the world's largest Christmas store. it wasn't really what I was expecting. There was a lot of stuff in there, but it was all still pretty expensive. So we didn't buy much. We then went to this Brewery for dinner and then back for ice cream!
All in all it was a great trip with the family! Back down to Dayton this weekend for Dad's golf outing!

Big Red Hot Dog Video
Georgia Vacation
Well it has been a while since I last posted. We just got back from our vacation down in Georgia. The kids did great on the airplane both there and back. The plane we rode was two seats on one side and one on the other. We had planned on me sitting on the one side and Jim and Savannah on the two side. Well it turns out the baby had to be on the side of the two seats because that is where the extra oxygen and the infant life vests were. So I was stuck with both kids while Jim relaxed by himself listening to his ipod and reading his book. Must have been nice. Once we got to the airport we picked up our rental car and headed to Tim and Stacey's. When we got there we headed out to dinner at Taco Mac. It was really good. That was Monday night. On Tuesday we got up early and headed to the Coke museum and the Georgia Aquarium. It was really warm that day, but the kids had a good time. We were meeting my college roommate for dinner and had a little time to kill so we went over to Centennial park for a little bit. It was only a few miles to dinner and all the kids fell asleep. They did pretty well at dinner given how tired they were. I really enjoyed catching up with Michelle. I hadn't seen her in almost two years.
The next day we headed to the Varsity for lunch. It is a very historic place in Atlanta to eat. They serve diner food. The kids had a great time and the food was good. Also kept us from buying anything at the baseball game. We got to the game and sat in our seats which were right in the sun. We decided to move into the shade and it was much better. We were able to stay through the 6th inning. The kids were ready to go. CJ slept through most of the game.
After the game we headed out to Stacey's parents house on Lake Oconee in Reynolds Plantation. We were planning on staying there the rest of the week. It was so nice and relaxing. We went out on the lake, swam in the pool and the kids did a little fishing. Savannah did great wearing her life jacket and got in the lake to swim. She also rode the jet ski with Tim and Stacey. I tried to ski, but couldn't get my big butt out of the water. That's ok maybe next time. Jim was able to go golfing as well. He enjoyed it, but it was pretty hot out. Their house is just a great place to sit and relax. Stacey's mom was very helpful with CJ. She watched him so that we could go to the pool and the lake. We did take him out on the lake once and I think he liked the wind in his hair :) He slept a little too much during the day though. He was back to getting up twice in the night. Hopefully that doesn't last now that we are home. I guess we will see.
All in all it was a great vacation. Hopefully we will get to see the Browns again soon and we would love to go to the lake again. Savannah is already asking for Colin and Sarah. The kids played really well together. Although Savannah started acting like she was older than she was :)

CVS Deals for the Week!
Well I made 3 trips to CVS this week and I think I ended up doing pretty well! Although today I had to go to 3 different CVS stores to find the formula. Since I don't think they carry all that much and it was on sale it was hard to find.
Transaction #1:
4 12 packs of Diet/Sprite $4/11 - 8.25 (they forgot to charge me for one, lucky me!)
Formula - 23.99 (on sale)
Total - 32.24
MFG Coupon - (1.00)
CVS Coupons - (16.97)
Formula Check (5.00)
OOP - 9.27
Transaction #2:
1 12 pack Sprite - 2.75 (needed to buy one more to get the ECB)
Dove Deodorant - 2/5.00
Candy - 10.26
Granola Bars - 3/10.00
Cheerios - 3/10.00
Dove Lotion - 6.99
Coppertone Faces - 7.49
MGF Coupon - (3.85)
CVS Coupon - (5.00)
OOP - 44.72 - Earned $28.00 in ECB
Transaction #3:
2 Similac Formulas - 47.98
MFG Coupons (2.00)
CVS Coupons (28.00)
Formula Checks (9.00)
OOP - 8.98
So total for all three transactions before coupons/rebates- 132.71 (that is with sale prices so even better - according to receipts sale prices saved me another 31.75)
OOP - 62.97
Not too bad. Given I got 3 things of formula in the above!
