Dayton Visit

Jim headed down to Atlanta for the weekend to visit the Browns. So we headed down to Dayton for the weekend. On Friday we took Savannah to Pump It Up which ended up being right by my dad's house. It is a place where they just have a bunch of big bounce houses/slides. Savannah had a great time. They even brought out a few things for CJ to play with. Now that our big guy is finally sitting up he was able to play there on the mat with some toys.

On Friday night we headed to the Cincinnati Zoo with mom, Jen and my stepsister Lori and her two girls. It was a pretty good time other than it was freezing and towards the end Savannah's feet were frozen. I thought about her upper body quite a bit, but didn't really think about doubling up on the socks or wearing better shoes. We learned our lesson :) I was worried about CJ being cold, but I think he was the warmest of us all!

Then on Saturday morning we met my dad at Der Dutchman in Waynesville for a Christmas brunch with his shirt. It was a really nice time. And to top it off, my dad had one sweet shirt on :)

We pretty much rested the rest of the weekend. We were supposed to pick up Jim at the airport in Columbus at around 4 on Sunday and head home from there. Well his first flight was delayed quite a bit so I called Delta and rebooked him on a flight to Cleveland. Then that flight was delayed (both due to mechanical problems). He didn't make it back into Cleveland until 10:30. It was so late that he ended up taking a cab (cost us $50!) and wasn't home until after 11:00. I am quickly learning no matter how much you plan, things don't always go as planned!

Visit with Santa

Savannah and CJ's sitter has a holiday get together every year. She brings santa in and has crafts and food. It is such a fun time. The kids always enjoy it. This was the first time that CJ saw Santa and he was very interested in him. He didn't cry just stared at him. It was pretty cute. Savannah and her two best buddies were there. Savannah and Claire.

Savannah's First Gingerbread House

I bought this Gingerbread house last year at the Pottery Barn Outlet, so it was probably a year old already when I bought it. So I was a bit worried that it wouldn't go together all that well. But Savannah had a great time and I think it turned out well.

Visits with Friends

While we were home for the holiday weekend we had the chance to meet up with some friends. On Friday night we headed down to Cincinnati to meet up with some of Jim's high school/college buddies. We met up with is buddy Jay and his wife and kids. They have twin girls that are 4 and a little baby girl. Savannah loves to hang out with the girls. Took her a little while to get comfortable, but she had fun. We also met up with Kevin and his fiancee Jenny from Honduras. We are heading to their wedding in January so it was nice to hang out with them before we go. We had a great time visiting with everyone. Jenny really took to CJ. Watch out Kevin you may be having kids very soon!

Then on Saturday we went to Panera to meet up with some of my mom's knitting friends which included Becky and Carolyn. We had a great time. We then picked up and moved down the street to Marion's Pizza were we met up with a group of friends from high school. It was great to see everyone.

Thanksgiving Weekend

We drove down to Dayton Wednesday night before Thanksgiving. Jim mentioned that he wasn't feeling well. He woke up Thursday morning and felt horrible. So he missed most of the day. He ended up joining me at my grandma's but just sat on the couch. Poor guy. We did make him a plate to take home, but it wasn't the same. We also missed out on seeing our friends that were in town because their son was sick too!

We headed to my mom's for the afternoon. I tried to put Savannah down for a nap and fell asleep myself. I guess that is what holidays are for. We then headed to my uncle's house and hung out there for a bit. We were eating at my Grandma's so we headed over there. Most of the family was in town and it was nice to get everyone together. We hadn't had Thanksgiving over there in 5 years. I was in quite the food coma after that.

Ever since I was a little kid we would go shopping the day after Thanksgiving. This year was no different other than we didn't even leave the house until 9:30. Thats what happens when you have to get up with a baby and your sister is pregnant! We wanted to sleep in a little bit. This year we even got tshirts. The deals weren't that great and we didn't get much.

CJ the Independent Eater

We were doing so well with CJ eating babyfood. Savannah never liked it so it was nice to have a baby that did. That all changed about a week ago when he didn't want anything that you fed him on a spoon. I tried to feed him mashed potatoes, but he only wanted them if he did it himself. And he got really mad when you took the spoon to put more on it. But he had fun and is now eating pretty much anything. That is as long as it doesn't come on a spoon and he can feed himself.

Family Brunch at Shaker Country Club

For the Junior Leage we have an annual Fundraiser called Poinsettia Place. They have all of these vendors with different items for sale for the holidays. They also have a Girls Night Out and a Family Brunch. I thought I would take Savannah to the Family Brunch this year. They had a nice brunch and then Santa came out. Gave each of the kids a present (we got hair glitter!). The kids could make some crafts and they also had a twigbee shop for the kids to buy presents. Savannah bought something for daddy and CJ. After that we went and did a little shopping ourselves. My aunt Mary Beth came with us and it was a lot of fun (even if I drank a little too much the night before!)

Cici's Pizza Party

Through the Avon Lake Early Childhood PTA they have various outings that you can go on with other kids. This one was to go to Cici's Pizza. We went before the store opened (yes 10 am for pizza). The kids got a tour of the place and then they got to make their own pizzas. So half of the group did that and the other half got to play games. Of course they could only play the games that didn't win prizes. Savannah had no idea what she was doing, but had a good time. Was a bit hard to get her out of there to make her pizza. But she had fun making her pizza, didn't really eat all that much so we took the rest home to daddy.

The Circus

We took Savannah to the circus in early November. We left CJ with Jim's parents so it was just mommy, daddy and Savannah. She really liked it and couldn't wait for the tigers! Thank goodness they had them. They also had $12 cotton candy! I couldn't believe it. They didn't have prices on anything and I told Savannah to pick a snack. Of course it got all over and I wouldn't let her eat anymore and we ended up getting popcorn anyway.

Halloween 2008

Guess I better get this blog updated. Didn't realize it had been over a month since I posted. I guess that is what happens with two little ones.

Savannah was Dora and CJ, well he was just whatever. We did have these cute Vampire Teeth pacifier, but he didn't really like it. So he turned into a pumpkin.

Savannah wasn't much into trick or treating this year like she was in the past, but she got some candy and was happy with that.
